HAVE FAITH AND TAKE TIME FOR TRAINING

Have faith in your child to be who they are - for their development age that is. This helps them learn and learn from their mistakes.

Having faith in your child does not mean they are ready to be on their own - it means they are ready to learn at their level.

When we have faith, we don’t need to control of punish, but knowing how to support in the here and now, with a view to the long game.

That is why it is important to TAKE TIME FOR TRAINING. When we want a child to adopt a new behaviour or habit is going to take time and training.

Explain the task in a kind way while you do it and the child watches. Then do the task together, then have your child so it while you supervise. When it is time - let the child do the task on her own.

This might take lots of little steps in between those four big steps, sometimes it may take a long time to get it right, and may require reminders.

Kids need skills, and skills need to be taught. Practice invites improvement. Avoid rewards, everybody can feel good - more self-esteem and more connected - when they participate in family life.
