Share your feelings with an authentic ‘I’ message. “I am feeling really angry now, and……

Let your children know you need to gain self-control. “I need to sit down and take a break”, or if another caregiver is there ‘go for a walk’. Let children know that you can calm down and feel better. That is good modelling

If you can, look at your responsibility in creating the problem “Was I very stressed today? Did I not set clear limits early on?”

Listen to a child’s point of view, and get into their world
